Sloane & Sweda house were office buildings built in the late 1970s and were left derelict since the early 2000s.

While the buildings fell into disrepair, the internal structure remained sound and after considering many different feasibility options, retaining and converting the existing building was determined to be the most sustainable and cost effective approach.

While utilising the existing building footprint proved challenging, the final design created 52 residential units, a mixture of 1- and 2-bed apartments, a gym and a hub space for residents.

In addition to upgrading the building envelope, several different options to extend the building were explored during the planning process, through both full applications and permitted development rights. Several tenures were also explored, from private sale to build to rent options.
